As a member of the Navajo Nation, I have first-hand witnessed the abysmal socio-economic conditions Indigenous peoples endure and how poverty creates unique barriers to accessing justice and other services.
I believe that now more than ever, Indigenous peoples need lawyers who not only understand their experiences, but who can also effectively translate their needs and concerns to leverage support using international procedures, mechanisms, and systems. Indigenous communities need lawyers and advocates who can navigate multiple legal landscapes and use these bodies of law for the well-being of their communities.
As one of these lawyers, I am actively, professionally, and compassionately committed to serving the needs and concerns of Indigenous peoples from all corners of the world.
